Tony O., has been working in radio for almost 30 years, celebrating and presenting doo wop music.
Tony is also well know around the world amongst record collectors as one of America's top collectors of doo wop records, and has consulted with many music biographers and authors including John Clemente (author of "Girl Groups -- Fabulous Females That Rocked The World"), Dr. Anthony Gribbin, Ph.D & Dr. Matthew Schiff (authors of "Doo Wop: The Forgotten Third of Rock and Roll" and "The Complete Book Of Doo Wop") and Steven J. Dunham & Abraham J. Santiago (authors of "Acappella Street Corner Vocal Groups - A Brief History and Discography of 1960's Singing Groups").
Over the years, Tony O. has worked with many groups on and off radio, during performances, recording sessions, promoting and organizing groups. Some of the groups Tony O. has worked with include The Shallows, Flashback, Heart's Desire, Wishful Thinking, The Creations, Sentimental Journey, Gettin' Busy, Starr and the Satellites, Take Five and The Variations. Tony O. has also worked with other Doo Wop radio programs including "Ronnie I's R&B Party" WNYE (NYC), "Johnny Z's Rock & Roll Revival Show" on WZAD (Wurtzboro, NY), "John Manzi's Bop Shop" on WSUL (Monticello, NY) and the "Rich Jackson, Man Of Action" R&B program, WRPR (Mahwah, NJ) and WRKL (Rockland County, NY).
Tony O, formerly with WOV Internet Radio, has joined the Doowop Cafe Radio Station. Tony brings us his unique "Dungeon Serenade" show, with a blend of R&B, Doowop, and a bit of discussion about the music and performers, as well as occasional live interviews.
